This handwoven indigo shibori scarf is available for purchase in my web shop. I am in the process of moving and will eventually have more of my scarves and woven items here on Artizan Made. Contact me through my website for information on what other weavings I may have available.
Handwoven and indigo-dyed woven shibori scarf, border at each end, solid in-between. 100% Swedish Bockens cotton.
Hemstitched on the loom.
The scarf length is 66″ + 5″ fringe on each end, width is 8.75″.
The first photo shows the scarf for sale and the other two show variations I have made in the past.
Woven shibori scarves should be hand washed in cool water, alone, then well-rinsed. Hang to dry on a rack and allow to air-dry. Press with iron on cotton setting. When not worn, the scarves should be kept in a drawer or closet.
I am a handweaver, creating wearables as well as functional items for the home.
For the past three years I have been exploring the woven shibori technique along with indigo dyeing. I am just getting started and there are so many more ideas to explore! In addition, I will be returning to my Norwegian/ Scandinavian weaving interests. Tapestry weaving is another area I am just starting to delve into.
