Needle Felted Pig Puppet

Description

This realistic, pig puppet is needle felted from wool. The puppet has black, glass eyes, long eye lashes and a waxed nose. The nose has been made by an interesting technique: the nose is needle felted, then bee’s wax is applied, the nose is sanded and then varnished! This sweet pig is 14″ tall x 10″ wide. Needle felted pig puppets make great gifts for pig lovers, she can also be used as a teaching aid and a character to accompany a book about pigs or books with a pig character such as Charlotte’s Web.

I am an American textile Artist living in the Middle East. I’m from Greenfield, Indiana and I live in Jaffa, Israel; My family and I, our four cats, two turtles, and our Bull Terrier Louie live a multi-cultural life. Ever since I can remember I’ve been making things! I’m inspired by my three girls and a love for art, animals, gardening, travel and photography. I use the textile technique of needle felting to create animals, dolls, masks and puppets. I started sewing costumes and making toys for my girls when they were little; after we moved to Israel I started a business and wrote two books based on making beautiful things for children. Today my artistic focus has changed to making art for adults who are in touch with their inner child! I have also been painting portraits and still lifes and accept commissions.
