Hand Painted and Sculpted Bird

Description

This is a hand sculpted and painted bird sitting on a block of wood. The entire piece is made of clay. This style of bird is all sculpted by hand and then when it is dry, it is hand painted with underglaze. Then it goes through the first firing, is covered with clear glaze and fired again. They are designed for display, maybe on a bookshelf or a side table. I show one photo next to a soda can so you can get an idea of the size.

It measures 5 1/2 inches to the tip of the back wings by 7 1/2 inches long by 5 1/2 inches wide.

I believe in recycling all of my packaging materials as to save on waste. What is inside the box is really pretty but the outside might be a box and packing paper I have received from someone else. I try and double box all of my pieces as much as possible for protection so they will also be heavier than normal. Since everything I create is one of a kind, I try and keep it as safe as I can while it is traveling to its new home.
