Description

Encaustic and oil of a white horse swimming in a river. Inspired by my time working on a horse ranch where I swam horses for their therapy and exercise.

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using a heated encaustic medium (wax)  to which colored pigments have been added for creating artworks.  I apply the  molten medium to a  prepared wooden board and use a heat gun to fix it.

I have been professionally painting for over 30 years.  I’ve had numerous art publishers (Martin Lawrence Galleries,  John Szoke Art Publisher, Galerie-F, and Liberty Puzzles).   I paint watercolors, silk and enjoy encaustics as well as drawing and sketching.   I am originally from Los Angeles and now live in Cornwall, NY.   My website is:  https://www.LinneaPergola.com
