Ten Thousand Villages helped pioneer the concept of fair trade in the United States. They work with hundreds of artisans in several countries and we are happy to have them here on Artizan Made. We are an affiliate seller for them and when you click on the “Shop Now” button, you will go to their site where you can explore all of their beautiful products.
If you purchase anything, we will receive a percentage of the sale which helps us with our overhead. Many thanks for supporting fair trade!
Description
Tibetan Buddhists use singing bowls like this for meditation and prayer. To make the bowl sing, first tap it. Hold the stick upright against the bowl and move it slowly around the outside, keeping firm contact with the surface. The bowl will start to resonate. Artisans at the New SADLE workshop in Patan, Lalitpur, Nepal, create this singing bowl. First, they melt a mixture of metals and pour it into a mold. After the bowl cools, they grind and polish the bowl to make it shine.
