Starting with white silk georgette, I then resisted the fabric with a combination of itajime resist techniques and dyed it with fiber reactive dyes. One of my favorite things about using shibori techniques are the unexpected patterns that occur from resists. Each twist and tie makes a new unique pattern for you to wear. In addition, it is made of luxurious silk, which is soft to the skin and breathes easy in the summer. Throw this scarf on any simple outfit to make a statement!

 A little about me:

Fueled by curiosity and a love of color and mark I am constantly exploring new ways to make patterns on luxury fabrics. I began years ago working with wax resist batik, next learned deconstructed silk screen and most recently have been working with shibori. The pieces look great stretched flat but they really take on a life of their own when draped around the body. It is so exciting to see the work become animated as the patterns and colors shift with the wearer. I am always making new things so please come back often.
