Let it Snow, Snow dyed Raw Silk Noil pieced with Magenta and Grey Silk Crepe Scarf

Let it Snow, Snow dyed Raw Silk Noil pieced with Magenta and Grey Silk Crepe Scarf

$160.00

This beautiful magenta and grey pieced scarf was created by first dyeing raw silk noil using the snow method of dyeing. Then I cut the resulting fabric into rectangles and pieced it together with separate dark grey and magenta silk crepe rectangles in order to pull out the subtle tones within the snow dyed fabric. Drape it over your shoulders for a sophisticated and modern look!

Beautiful Watercolor Marks were created by folding this white raw silk noil and piling on freshly fallen snow. The dye is applied on top of the snow and the marks occur as the snow melts. It is completely unique and in this case lovely. Open it wide and use it as a shawl. Fold it in half and you have a scarf. Any way you wear it you will be looking fine in this turquoise and grey and magenta beauty. Made with the finest snow that Philadelphia had to offer.

 A little about me:

Fueled by curiosity and a love of color and mark I am constantly exploring new ways to make patterns on luxury fabrics. I began years ago working with wax resist batik, next learned deconstructed silk screen and most recently have been working with shibori. The pieces look great stretched flat but they really take on a life of their own when draped around the body. It is so exciting to see the work become animated as the patterns and colors shift with the wearer. I am always making new things so please come back often.
