Jacobean Hooked Rug Wall Art
This hand hooked display combines everything I love: rug hooking, crewel work, vintage finds, and rusty junk.
Jacobean Hooked Rug
On Flea Market Sunday—-our family holiday— I was immediately taken by a set of antique crewel work curtains in one vendor’s stall. Those curtains now adorn the windows in my cozy family room where I can sit and hook and admire them to no end. Inspired by these visions, I adapted a portion of the design and hand hooked this piece using a variety of new and vintage wools and yarns. The chippy paint pink pickets were salvaged from vintage shutters and the old hinge provided the perfect rusty accent. This is a beautiful piece of rustic primitive decor waiting to deck your halls. Measures approx 19″ wide x 24.5″ tall Picture wire hanger on the back. Please feel free to message me for additional shipping options.
I am a Maker. Textiles and textures fascinate me. Relics from the past take hold of my imagination and frequently influence my work. I love to design with vintage and recycled materials in my rug hooking, knitting, and folk art assemblages. I also love to collaborate with my husband . He’s first to my rescue when my artistic vision outshines my skill set and his own artistic eye frequently defines our creative path.
