I want to make you smile.
I’m addicted to color and texture, and I’m guessing you are too. My “gateway drug” to textile art was designing knitwear, and from there I progressed to feltmaking and dyeing, embroidery, and mixed-media collage.
These days, I’m charmed by vintage photos. Don’t most people look grim in antique portraits? That’s because they needed to sit still for the camera. But I’ve found rare images of people having a great time and incorporated them into my work. Across all these years, they can still make us smile.
Want one of your own photos transformed into a one-of-a-kind work of art? Commission me to create personalized wedding, engagement, anniversary, or birthday gifts. Or browse through my existing pieces and find one that speaks to you.
My larger pieces are made from hand-felted, hand-dyed wool. Talk about labor-intensive work! Before I can begin a design, I have to make the fabric from scratch! (Whose idea was this, anyway?) But it’s a labor of love. I would spend all day in the studio if I could.
I welcome all feedback and inquiries. Let’s talk!
